Philadelphia Middle School Students Struggle with Remote Learning

As the pandemic of 2020 continued to affect communities across the country, we decided to take action to support students who were struggling to attend virtual classes due to a lack of technology. We reached out to the principal of a local school in Philadelphia and offered to donate laptops to any students who needed them. The school principal was thrilled to receive this offer and worked with the volunteers to identify students who were most in need.

We collected a variety of used laptops and worked to refurbish them, making sure that they were in good working condition and loaded with necessary software and applications. We then coordinated with the school to distribute the laptops to students who needed them. The response from the students and families was overwhelming, with some openly expressing gratitude for the support during a difficult time. We were thrilled to be able to make a difference in the lives of these students and to help bridge the digital divide that had been exacerbated by the pandemic. Our goal for this effort was to demonstrate the power of community collaboration and the importance of working together to support those in need.

We wish these students the best of many years to come!
